Hub 8 – Smart implementation and partnerships
Since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, the EC acted decisively to reorient the funding available in order to deal with the increased needs corresponding to the crisis. Thanks to the strong cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB) under the InnovFin Infectious Diseases Finance Facility (IDFF) and increased budget targeting this challenge, Europe is able to provide financing to European innovators developing breakthrough solutions to COVID-19 by EIC & InnovFin funded companies. The aim of this session is to demonstrate innovative European companies, which develop solutions against COVID-19 in the areas of prophylactics, diagnostics and therapeutics. The session will also highlight how the EIC Pilot targeting COVID-19 awarded EUR 166 million to 36 innovative projects.
