
Rachel Kaplan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at The Mount Sinai Hospital working on the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) and Heart Transplant team. Rachel has been working at Mount Sinai for over five years, and has worked in the Cardiac Intensive Care Units, regular cardiac floors, and leading a support group in the outpatient cardiac rehab program. She is also a therapist in private practice in Manhattan, working primarily with adults facing chronic illness, anxiety, and depression. Rachel is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Palliative and End of Life Care and is experienced in mindfulness, chronic illness, and the mind-body connection. She will be discussing the impacts of the pandemic on mental health and how to manage this incredibly stressful period in our lives.
