In this session we highlight the contribution of digital solutions supporting healthcare providers and stakeholders in their COVID-19 response. Containing the spread of the virus from imported cases, and preventing community transmission has been crucial for controlling virus transmission in the early stage of an outbreak. As the pandemic matures, many governments are considering the upcoming and existing approaches to control the spread of SARS-CoV-2. With many of these strategies at our disposal, it is increasing clear that adopting digital technology and integrating it into policy and healthcare is key for smooth coordination and data management, resulting in effective planning, surveillance, testing, contact tracing, quarantine, and healthcare. In this session, EdgeX, SafeCare, and SAVICS will highlight the power of secure digital solutions to help us meet the needs of our communities now and in the future of the pandemic management and response in the context of existing health challenges such as HIV and TB. Participants learn about:
• Local innovative solutions are needed to help curb the impact of COVID-19 in resource-poor settings, to improve quality
• An open-source, wireless device, designed to collect, aggregate, store, view, and share diagnostic results and other critical patient data
• Web and mobile apps built to support planning and tracking of community-based surveillance, and enables timely identification of high-risk patients
• Overview of lessons learned of COVID-19 preparedness from over 350 healthcare providers in 19 countries
