
The Canadian province of Quebec was hit hard in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and is now set to lift most of its mask mandates on May 14, though settings like public transit and hospitals will keep the restrictions in place.
It will be the last province in the country to do so, with its top doctor saying the peak of the sixth wave has now passed and COVID-19 numbers are down.
But as Dan Spector reports, many suspect the reason could also be political in nature.
