‘Boxing Gloves’ was the first credited film appearance and the Little Rascals/Our Gang debut of one of the most successful alumni of the troupe – Jackie Cooper. Cooper would earn the record of youngest actor ever nominated for a lead acting category when in 1931 he was nominated for the lead role in Skippy, at the age of 9. Over 45 years later, Cooper landed his other memorable role, that of newspaper editor Perry White in the Christopher Reeve Superman movies.
