Health Minister Joe Phaahla says no new Covid-19 Variant has been detected yet in the country. Phaahla says the steady increase in cases over the past three weeks is being driven by a sub-variant of the Omicron.
Phaahla was speaking at the re-opening of the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital Accident & Emergency Unit which was gutted by fire in 2021. The hospital is currently operational between 70-80% capacity.
